UGM Hosts National Seminar on Agricultural Research to Address Socio-Economic Perspectives in Agriculture

The Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) recently held its 14th National Seminar on Agricultural Research (Semnashas XIV) as part of the Faculty’s 78th anniversary celebrations. The seminar focused on the socio-economic aspects of agriculture, emphasizing the optimization of land use and adaptation to climate change as key components in achieving food sovereignty.

Participants from various backgrounds, including academics, students, and agricultural practitioners, gathered to discuss a wide range of pressing issues in the sector, such as gender in agriculture, the role of information technology, commodity pricing and production, and global climate change adaptation strategies. read more

Faculty of Agriculture UGM Boosts Waste Management Program

Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has received two plastic bottle collection bins from Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. This initiative is aimed at supporting waste management efforts, maintaining campus cleanliness, and raising awareness about the importance of recycling among students and academic staff.

The ceremonial installation of the bins took place on Tuesday, 27 August 2024, and was attended by representatives from Bank BRI, UGM officials, and several students. In his remarks, the President Director of Bank BRI emphasized the company’s commitment to environmental preservation and its role in raising public awareness about the importance of recycling. read more
